Tires and Wheels

Tires and wheels are some of the most commonly purchased accessories for automobiles in this country. For most people, these purchases are mainly relegated to buying replacements for worn out parts. However, other people purchase these items as a means of upgrading their existing set up.

Most auto manufacturers have recommendations when it comes to replacing the tires and wheels on a given vehicle. Almost every vehicle has a limitation as to the size of the wheel/tire combination that can be safely used. These recommendations are almost always listed in the owner’s manual.

For those that want to upgrade their vehicles tires and wheels, there are a number of things to be considered. Most importantly, the size of the wheel and tire must be small enough to fit inside the wheel well. This means that if you upgrade to a larger wheel, you will need to purchase lower profile tires to compensate.
