Mud Tires

Anyone that’s ever taken a truck out for a spin in the muck understands the value of a good set of mud tires. Their ability to plow through the mud while spitting out an enormous spray of water and dirt has made them extremely popular with those that prefer the dirt to pavement. They can turn an ordinary off road experience into a truly glorious one.

Mud tires are big; much larger than your standard car or truck tire. As such it is vital to know the size of wheel it is to be attached too as well as the available clearance in the wheel well. A tire that limits the ability of the vehicle to maneuver won’t do you much good on the trail.

Mud tires are characterized by their deep, aggressive tread patterns. These tread patterns are what allow them to be so effective in wet and muddy conditions. However, on paved surfaces they can be excessively noisy.
